City Tour Cusco Half Day
Itinerary City Tour Cusco
The tour starts between 1:00 p.m. at 1:30 p.m. With the collection of your accommodation depending on the proximity to the historic center of the city. The first place to visit will be the imposing Cathedral of Cusco, which houses important canvases and sculptures from the Cusco school. Our professional guide will explain the most important points of this place and then go to the famous Coricancha (Temple of the Sun) where we can appreciate the mixture between the Inca constructions (with its perfectly polished stone walls) and the Spanish (the church built on Inca walls).
After the visit to Coricancha, we will go to Sacsaywaman, where we will see huge blocks of stone of up to 40 tons perfectly placed on top of each other. Our guide will explain to us the importance of this place from before the arrival of the Spaniards and during the colony, since this place witnessed one of the greatest battles between the Incas and the Spaniards.
We will continue to the Qenq´o sector (labyrinth) that bears this name along its paths that give the impression of being inside a maze here, the most important place will be an ancient ceremonial table that owes its importance to this place being probably the last accommodation or resting place of Pachacuteq.
We will continue on our tourist bus to Puca Pucara (red fortress), which was an important control center for people who wanted to enter the city of Cusco at the Inca time, given the importance of the city that was sacred in which all travelers had to purify their bodies and souls. The purification was carried out in Tambomachay, the last place we will visit where you can still appreciate the skill and knowledge in hydraulic engineering achieved by the Incas.
